I purchased mine in February 2010 and have had it about one month. I haven't put it through much of a stress test yet but it seems to be very protective. It has rubber covers over all the buttons and connectors which many other cases do not. The screen cover doesn't seem to impede the response to finger touch but it definetely has the "oil slick" effect mentioned in other reviews. I read hundreds of reviews, called the company, and spoke with another woman who works outdoors, so I heard all of the pros & cons before I made my decision. I bought this particular Otterbox style because I know that my phone will be exposed to dust and rain, and I need the protection that the Defender case provides. The case is thick, which takes away from the shiny, sleek look of the iPhone, but I dropped my phone 4 feet onto concrete a few days after I got the case, and it was completely undamaged. The chargers are a different story. One of them has died completely. The other still works, but the charging indicator light has burnt out or been disconnected somehow from the circuit. It no longer lights up. This isn't a big deal for me because the mechanism responsible for preventing overcharging seems to still be doing its thing, and I just leave my batteries to charge overnight. Clearly though ...more
